How to meditate on patience

The best antidote against anger is patience. Today we learn how to meditate on it.

A meditation on patience is acutally also a meditation on mental happiness. The more we are mentally happy the less we are likely to become angry. People who are mentally happy will not become very easily offended.

In order to be able to keep a happy and peaceful mind when we are facing problems, we can do a simple reflection on these two lines of Shantideva:

„If there is something I can do about the problem, then there is no need to get upset.

If there is nothing I can do about the problem, the there is no purpose of getting upset.“
