COURSE DURATION: October 19-20, November 9-10, 10.00 – 17.00, retreat December 27 – 31 in Pomaia, Italy or April 9 – 13 as an alternative (the course builds on each other. It will not be possible to jump in in the middle of it, so please plan to attend both weekends in Zurich and one of the retreat dates)

Meditation is a method for investigating and working with our own mind. It is a profound technique that can help us to know ourselves more deeply, to learn to better manage our thoughts and emotions, and to develop our wholesome inner qualities in order to cultivate greater well-being in life. All the major religions of the world and many modern disciplines, such as psychology, use different forms of meditation and self-reflection.
The three-weekend experiential course ‘ABC of Meditation’ is suitable for anyone, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners of all ages and cultures. It teaches the basic components of meditation – sustained attention and mindful awareness – and how to use them to develop our own inner qualities in the context of our daily lives. The course is taught in a universal way and does not particularly focus on a specific religion or tradition.
ABC 2 (November 9-10 at Lhagsam Zurich)
During the second weekend we start to add an element of analysis to our meditation practice to work on transforming the mind and developing positive attitudes that are beneficial to oneself and to others.
ABC 3 (December 27 – 31, 2019 or April 9 -13, 2020, Lama Tzong Khapa Institute, Pomaia, Italy)
The third weekend will be a 3-day retreat. During these three days we will practice the meditations we learned in the previous modules and we will include the element of silence.

About the Teacher
As a Tibetan Buddhist nun, the course instructor Ven. Connie Miller has taught and practiced meditation for the last 40 years. Her biggest passion is the Universal Education project aimed to to propagate a system of inner development that enables people of all ages, cultures and traditions to lead a happy and meaningful life and to be of service to others. ABC 3 Retreat in Italy: ABC 3 will start on December 27, 2019 at 16:00 and will end on December 31, 2019 at 13:00. It will take place at in beautiful Tuscany, at Lama Tzong Khapa Institute in Pomaia, Italy. It will take place at If you cannot participate in December, you can opt for an alternative date in April. You will be responsible for your own transportation to Italy, but we will help to organize transport from the airport to Pomaia.

Cost: Suggested donation is 60 CHF per day. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. You can donate upon arrival or through PayPal.
Language: English on the weekends in Zurich, Italian with English translation on the last weekend in Italy
Level: Beginner level. No prior knowledge required.
Lunch: There will be lunch breaks during the weekends in Zurich. Please bring your own lunch or plan to grab one in one of the nearby cafés. Best to bring something that we can easily share, like bread, hummus, fruit etc.
