Guided Meditation: Focus

Train your focus and concentration using the well-proven, ancient technique called shamatha!

When you achieve shamatha one result is incredible mental pliancy. Your mind follows your wishes and focuses wherever you like for as long as you like. – Geshe Lhundub Sopa

Shamatha means ‘to abide in peace’. It is the practice of tranquillity or stabilizing meditation – a method of allowing the mind to be more focused, calm and relaxed.

Please join us on Monday evenings for an hour of Shamatha meditation. The class is suitable for everyone – beginners and advanced practitioners. It will start with a short instruction, but most of the hour will be spent in silent meditation to help us to develop more stability and clarity within our minds.

You will notice that meditating in a group has a great effect on your energy and concentration. It will also help you motivate yourself to carve out this special time in the week just for you and your mind.

Level: No prior knowledge required

Language: English

Registration: No registration necessary. Drop-ins are welcome anytime

Late arrival: The door is open, so just walk in and join the meditation. Please don’t ring the bell.

Cost: Suggested donation is 15 CHF. Noone will be turned away due to lack of funds. You can donate upon arrival or through PayPal
