Today we are starting a new course from the FPMT Discovering Buddhism program ‘Establishing a Daily Practice’. Beginner Dharma students like us often read a book here, do this practice there, do a meditation from now and then, we mostly just do what comes across. After some time we may develop the wish to have a stable practice for every day, which helps us to really progress in our spiritual growth.
In this module you will assemble the tools you need to develop a successful daily practice. Using Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s A Daily Meditation on Shakyamuni Buddha (also known as A Daily Meditation Practice) as a guide, become familiar with the elements necessary to generate realizations in the mind. Also, receive some tips for making every action of the day meaningful.
The course consists of weekly guided meditation, teaching and discussion. Drop-ins are welcome anytime, however frequent participation is required, if you would like to receive the completion certificate. We will start this course tonight by watching the introduction movie, which will feature many great teachers and our fellow students explaining to us, what we can expect to learn in the upcoming course.
