Today we are starting a new course from the FPMT Discovering Buddhism program ‘Refuge in the Three Jewels’. When your interest for Buddhism is growing you will soon come to a point when you ask yourself ‘Should I take refuge? Why? When? How? What does it actually mean?’
In this module you have the opportunity to find answers to these questions. We will be informed about what it means to take refuge in the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma and Sangha), and the essential practices of refuge. You will find out more about the advantage of taking lay vows and their role in enhancing our spiritual growth.
The course consists of weekly guided meditation, teaching and discussion. Drop-ins are welcome anytime, however frequent participation is required, if you would like to receive the completion certificate. The course will last until the beginning of February 2018. We will start this course tonight by watching the introduction movie, which will feature many great teachers and our fellow students explaining to us, what we can expect to learn in the upcoming course.
