Shamatha means ‘to abide in peace’. It is the practice of tranquillity or stabilizing meditation – a method of allowing the mind to be more focused, calm and relaxed.
Please join us on Friday mornings for an hour of Shamatha meditation. The class is suitable for everyone – beginners and advanced practitioners. It will start with a short instruction, but most of the hour will be spent in silent meditation to help us to develop more stability and clarity within our minds.
You will notice that meditating in a group has a great effect on your energy and concentration. It will also help you motivate yourself to carve out this special time in the week just for you and your mind.
