Open Positions

To help yourself and to help others; what else is more important? There’s nothing more important than what you do here. Really, the more problems we see in the world, then we see the existence of the center as more important.

Open Volunteer Positions:

Lhagsam is looking for a new Financial Coordinator (volunteer position)

What are the Financial Coordinator’s responsibilities?

Lhagsam center is fortunate to have a thriving and generous community. To help ensure longterm stability of our organization, the Financial Coordinator oversees financial matters and takes financial decisions in collaboration with the Lhagsam board.

The main tasks are:

    • Prepare Lhagsam’s annual budget and financial review for discussion and approval by the board and generally assembly.
    • Monitor Lhagsam’s finances throughout the year, making spending decisions in coordination with the board and volunteers.
    • Assist the director with necessary administrative tasks and legal responsibilities, such as managing liability insurance.
    • Work with the fundraising coordinator to establish and maintain the administrative framework needed for a stable and consistent income.
    • The Financial Coordinator is also invited to join the Lhagsam Board, but this is not a prerequisite. Presence at some of the monthly board meetings is required.
    • This position is open to job-sharing, so responsibilities can be divided between two people.

Optional tasks*:

    • Bookkeeping: Use accounting software to generate monthly and annual financial reports.
    • Donor & Member Communication: Prepare and send approximately 150 thank-you letters annually to donors and members.

* These optional tasks have traditionally been part of the Financial Coordinator’s role. However, due to the organization’s growth and the back-office nature of these duties, it may make sense to separate them. We already have a volunteer who is happy to assist with these responsibilities.
