His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso is the beloved spiritual leader and source of inspiration not only for Tibetans, but also for numbers of people from all backgrounds and cultures around the world. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, he frequently states that his life is guided by three major commitments: the promotion of basic human values or secular ethics, the fostering of inter-religious harmony and the preservation of Tibet’s Buddhist culture of peace and non-violence.
