Known as Ganden Ngamchoe—which translates to “Ganden Offering of the Twenty-Fifth Day”—this special day commemorates the anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa’s parinirvana. Marked on the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month in the Tibetan calendar, this occasion is a time for deep reflection and joyous offerings in honor of Lama Tsongkhapa’s extraordinary legacy.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche encouraged FPMT centers, projects, and services to engage in a variety of practices on Ganden Ngamchoe to celebrate and create merit. Lama Tsongkhapa (1357–1419) is the founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Ganden Ngamchoe, literally “Ganden Offering of the Twenty-Fifth Day,” or Lama Tsongkhapa Day, is the anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa’s parinirvana. It is celebrated on the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month of the Tibetan calendar. Lama Zopa Rinpoche encouraged FPMT centers, projects, and services to engage in a variety of practices on Ganden Ngamchoe.
During the evening, we’ll practice the Lama Tsongkhapa Guru Yoga and “Dependent Arising: A Praise of Buddha”. Last, but not least, this is a very special day to recite Swift Return Prayers for our precious Lama Zopa Rinpoche!
