Saka Dawa: Join us to practice together on the merit-multiplying day!
WHEN: May 26, 19:00 – 21:30
CATEGORY: Buddhist Practice
LEVEL: Beginner/Intermediate
Happy Saka Dawa! On Wednesday, May 26, is the fifteenth day of the fourth Tibetan lunar month, the day to celebrate Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and passing into parinirvana.
Any actions done during Saka Dawa, both auspicious and harmful, are multiplied in their power. Karmic results are said to be multiplied by one hundred million times, so don’t miss this precious opportunity! It is a very powerful time to practice and increase one’s commitment to both practice and study.
To make the best of this special day, we do the following practices at Lhagsam and online:
19.00 Recitation of the Vajra Cutter Sutra
20.00 Short Break
20.10 Tong Len Meditation
20.45 Vajrasattva Purification Meditation
21.20 Dedications
You can come and go as you please, if you would only like to join for one or two of the practices.
If possible, bring the text for the Vajra Cutter Sutra on your phone or tablet. You find it here.
Everyone is welcome. Let’s practice together, rejoice and have a good time!
