Open Positions

Lhagsam is looking for a new
Onsite Event Coordinator

To help yourself and to help others; what else is more important? There’s nothing more important than what you do here. Really, the more problems we see in the world, then we see the existence of the center as more important.
– Lama Zopa Rinpoche

With spiritual teachers touring Europe, Lhagsam has the wonderful opportunity to invite them to teach onsite in Zurich. The logistics for the events require careful planning and volunteer coordination. Therefore, the Lhagsam Board created a new position dedicated to organizing logistics for onsite events and coordinating and managing a volunteer team for the events.

Lhagsam Tibetan Meditation Center

What are the Onsite Event Coordinator’s responsibilities?

The Onsite Event Coordinator collaborates with the Lhagsam Director and SPC to organize logistics for events with visiting teachers, making sure the teacher’s stay in Zurich meets their wishes and that Tibetan protocols are followed when applicable. Also, the Onsite Event Coordinator coordinates and manages a team of volunteers to prepare for and help during the onsite events.

The main tasks are:

    • Manage the logistics (including transfers, accommodation, meals) for 2-3 events a year with visiting teachers. Most teachings take place during weekends, but sometimes additional teachings occur during the week in the evening.
    • Communicate with the Lhagsam Director and SPC about upcoming events with a visiting teacher and review the logistics needed to make the event successful.
    • Coordinate and manage a pool of volunteers to prepare for and help during an onsite event.
    • The Onsite Event Coordinator is also invited to join the Lhagsam Board, but this is not a prerequisite.
    • The role is open to job-sharing.
