We became an independent study group associated with FPMT
We are very excited to have been accepted by the Foundation of the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) as an independent study group associated with this organisation. The name given for the group by the FPMT’s Spiritual Director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, is ‘Lhagsam Tibetan Meditation Study Group’. According to Rinpoche:
The meaning of ‘Lhagsam’ is the special mind taking responsibility to free sentient beings from suffering.
We assume this responsibility with much enthusiasm and gratitude, while knowing that we have much study and work on our own minds in front of us, before we can realise this great aspiration.
With the new name and increased support from FPMT, our plan is to stick to our “Buddhismus Entdecken” program, while providing more and more opportunities for all (also those not interested in Buddhism) to get an introduction to Tibetan meditation and to the useful psychological tools, which have the potential to make our lives happier, more compassionate and balanced.
While we are now an independent study group, we cannot thank enough the Longku Center in Bern for making it possible for us to start our adventure with Buddhism and FPMT as their outreach group. We will continue to cultivate our heartfelt connection with the Lonkgu Center and are grateful beyond words for their kind consent to continue to support our group as our guiding center.
Last but not least, we thank all of you – who have supported our group from the very start, whether actively or in spirit! Our existence would have no purpose without you. We will continue to do our utmost best to make our program and activities useful and beneficial for you.
