Rafael Ferrer was born in 1966 in Spain. Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public health he started to practice buddhism in 1986 when he met Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche. He took Refuge as buddhist with Kalu Rinpoche in 1987 and lay vows from Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche in 1989.
Since 1986 he has worked at different FPMT local, national and European level, both in organizational and educational positions.
Rafa studied basic program subjects already back in the 90s under the general studies program module and later part of the Master Program in Italy 2008-2011. He has extensively translated for lamas, including His Holiness Dalai Lama, His Holiness Sakya Trizin and Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche, and other teachers from English to Spanish over 3 decades. Currently is interpreting the Madhyamakavatara teachings at Nalanda Monastery in France and coordinating FPMT European Office.
With all his responsibilities, he rarely finds the opportunity to share his knowledge as a teacher. Therefore our group is very fortunate and grateful to be able to receive instructions from him. While having much experience and scriptural study behind him, Rafa is able to present the Buddhist topics in an accessible and relevant way, which is close to the hearts of western students.
